CARAD is a not-for-profit organisation enabling refugees and people seeking asylum to live with dignity. We provide essential needs, advocacy and welfare support services to people seeking humanitarian protection in Western Australia. CARAD envisions a welcoming Australia where refugees and people seeking asylum can rebuild their lives and are treated with compassion and respect.
CARAD Services
CARAD is an independent, community-based organisation providing specialised welfare and advocacy assistance to asylum seekers, refugees and detainees in Western Australia.
Since opening its doors in 2000, CARAD has provided support to over 5,000 refugees, people seeking asylum and detainees fleeing persecution looking for safety in WA through our Client Services and Volunteer Programs.
Refugee week: 15 - 21 june 2025
Refugee Week celebrates the strength, resilience and valuable contributions refugees and people seeking asylum bring to our society. This special time presents an ideal opportunity to learn more about the situations those seeking safety in Western Australia are in and how we can help. When we understand the obstacles faced by those seeking asylum — including complex legal processes, securing essential needs and establishing meaningful connections — we can work together to create more inclusive and welcoming environments for people rebuilding their lives in Australia.
We Are Looking For a New Home
We are keen to hear from the community of any available space which might be suitable for our purposes. Our key requirements are a client meeting area, sufficient space for the CARAD Pantry, and office space for our dedicated team of staff and volunteers. Car bays would be a bonus!
